Dr Mark Muse: MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
About Us

  Greetings!
I am Mark Muse, MA, EdD, Ldo (PhD), MS, MP, ABPP, ABMP.
I've studied and practiced psychology for the last forty years, and in that time I've come to appreciate different aspects of our nature that keep our mental health in balance. It is important that we take into consideration our biological needs as well as our psychological and social functioning if we are to strive for optimum wellbeing. That is why I incorporate medication management into psychotherapy and work closely with prescribing physicians who consult with my clients. Not everyone will need pharmacologic support while in therapy but for those who do it is an essential aspect of my ongoing assessment to provide an interface between physician and psychologist.
I am a counseling/clinical psychologist with expertise in diagnosing and treating emotional symptoms arising from social and personal issues. I am also a medical psychologist with expertise in the use of psychopharmacological agents to treat clinical symptoms of emotional distress stemming from biochemical imbalance.
I treat conditions rising from stress such as phobias, excessive worrying, fear, sensations of panic, tension and anxiety; and I also treat mood disorders which give rise to depression, fatigue, impatience, irritability, and lack of concentration.
My fee is well within the "customary fee" of most insurance companies, and I work with the patient in providing documentation of treatment where required for reimbursement by a third party insurer. I do not, however, enter into agreements directly with third party insurers, and request that the patient pay the fee at the time of the consultation, and subsequently apply to his or her insurer for reimbursement.
Apart from work for a family clinic in Louisiana, where I am a prescribing medical psychologist, I maintain a small private practice out of my home office in Maryland. I have limited availability on Friday afternoons; such a limited practice affords close, personalized attention, which fits well with my holistic approach of treating the entire person.

Welcome!
I am Gloria Frigola, MA, LCMFT. I completed a Master degree at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in systemic-family therapy within the Faculty of Psychiatry, and I finished another 30 postgraduate hours in marriage and family counseling within the Counseling Program at Johns Hopkins University, the Marriage and Family Program at the University of Maryland, and the therapy program at the American School of Professional Psychology.
I have specialized in couple counseling for the last 20+ years, and provide a nonjudgmental, nongender-based approach to solving marriage and couple issues. Such issues include sexual relating, communication difficulties, problems in expression of affection and support, proper control of anger and aggression, the promotion of respect and mutuality, and problem solving in a collaborative approach to conflict resolution concerning such issues as child rearing, in-law disputes, money management, past infidelities, identification of common shared values and future goals, and a myriad of other themes which emerge within couple relationships.
